Trauma Therapy in Portland, Oregon
Is the past still showing up in your present?
You may find yourself:
Feeling on edge, hypervigilant, or waiting for something to go wrong
Shutting down or going numb when emotions feel like too much
Struggling to feel safe in your body or in relationships
Replaying memories, images, or moments you would rather leave behind
Noticing familiar patterns repeat even when you want things to be different
Change is possible.
Together, we will move at a pace that feels safe for your nervous system. We can explore:
Understanding how past experiences have shaped your body, beliefs, and patterns of relating
Using Brainspotting to gently access and process what words alone may not reach
Building a felt sense of safety in your body, one step at a time
Recognizing your triggers and responding with curiosity rather than alarm
Releasing the hypervigilance and heaviness that have been keeping you protected
Reconnecting with a sense of self that exists beyond what happened to you
Finding more ease, presence, and trust in yourself and your relationships
Trauma Therapy
Trauma doesn't always look like what we expect. It isn't always a single dramatic moment. More often it is the accumulation of experiences that left you feeling unsafe, unseen, or alone, and the ways your body and mind learned to cope with that. Those adaptations made sense once. But over time they can leave you feeling stuck, disconnected, or at war with yourself.
In trauma therapy, we work somatically and relationally, paying close attention to what your body is holding alongside what your mind is carrying. I use Brainspotting, a powerful brain and body-based approach that uses your field of vision to locate and process trauma stored deep in the nervous system. It often reaches places that talk therapy alone cannot access. We move gently, always at a pace that feels manageable and safe.
This is not about reliving what happened. It is about helping your nervous system understand that it is no longer in danger, so that you can begin to live more fully in the present.
