Frequently Asked Questions.

What is your fee?

I charge $150 per 50 minute session. I do not take health insurance.

I accept payment via credit/debit card or HSA card.

Payment is due at the time of service & your card will automatically be charged after your session. I do not offer payment plans. If your card is declined for any reason, I will reach out to you to get accurate payment information & payment will be due as soon as possible. If you are unable to pay for your session, I reserve the right to remove your recurring time slot from the schedule.

What can I expect of the process?

At Inner Ocean Therapy, your process is uniquely your own. Some people arrive with a clear sense of what they want to work on, while others simply need a steady, supportive place to explore. There is no single map for therapy. We will move at a pace that feels right for you, guided by your goals, my style as a therapist, and your own commitment to the work. That said, here is a sense of what the journey often looks like:

• Getting Oriented
In the beginning, our work is about connection and understanding. I will invite you to share about your background, values, relationships, and what feels most present for you right now. This is also a time for you to get a feel for me, my approach, and whether this space feels like a good fit. Together, we will begin shaping your goals for our work.

• Going Deeper
As trust builds, we begin to explore the deeper layers. We will look at how your current struggles connect with past experiences, where you feel stuck, and what hopes are asking to emerge. This may involve emotional processing, somatic awareness, and gentle challenges to help you grow beyond old patterns.

• Living the Work
Therapy is not just about what happens in session. As insights arise, we practice weaving them into your daily life. You may find yourself experimenting with new ways of relating, noticing your body more closely, or trying mindful practices between sessions. This is where real change begins to take root.

• Sustaining Growth
When you feel steady in the progress you have made, our work may shift into a lighter rhythm. Some people choose to check in from time to time, using therapy as a touchstone for continued support through life’s ebbs and flows. And when the time feels right, we will bring our work to a thoughtful close.

What is the cancellation policy?

At Inner Ocean Therapy, your appointment time is set aside just for you. Because consistency is such an important part of the therapeutic process, we ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. If less than 24 hours’ notice is given, the full session fee will be charged to the card on file, except in cases of serious illness or true emergencies.

I understand that life can be unpredictable. Sometimes a work conflict or a special event comes up, and I support you in making the choices you need to make for yourself. When possible, if you reschedule within the same week, the late cancellation fee will be waived. Please note, though, that rescheduling cannot always be guaranteed with short notice, and if another time is not available, the cancellation fee will still apply.

While this policy may feel firm, it serves two important purposes:

  1. To support your therapeutic progress by encouraging regular attendance.

  2. To support your therapist’s livelihood and well-being, which allows me to keep my caseload manageable and show up fully for each client.

I also hold myself to the same standard. If I need to miss a session due to illness, childcare, technology issues, or another unforeseen event, you will not be charged and you will receive a free late cancel credit to use in the future. Planned time away will always be communicated with plenty of notice.
